PARTICIPANTS, OR DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY.
Close Observance
of these Standards Set forth in these Rules and Regulations are an Important
Fundamental. The Standards Set Forth by the AMRA will Serve as Guidelines Based
upon Experience and Professional Mud Racing.
These Rules and Regulations Constitute the Minimum Standards for Competition
and are Intended as a Guide for the Conduct of the Sport. The Primary
Responsibility for Safe Condition and Operation of Mud Racing Vehicles in
Competition Rests with the Vehicle Owner and Driver. EVERYONE ASSOCIATED WITH
THE SPORT MUST SHARE THE TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MUD RACE'S PROGRESS. MUD
RACING IS A HIGH RISK EXTREME ACTIVITY. THINK SAFETY FIRST!
Situations May
Arise that Are Not Covered in these Policies, Rules and Regulations. In All
Cases, If Limitations Are Not Spelled Out, It Does Not Mean You Can Make
Unlisted Modifications. A Ruling Will Be Made By the Event Sponsor, Consistent
with Rulings, In Situations of the Same Nature.
SAFETY
The Tech
Official Has the Right to Disqualify Any Vehicle on the Basis of Its Safety
Features at the Tech Inspection. If You Do Not Pass Safety Tech, You Cannot
Race!
1.
Must have a 4-Point Roll
Cage in the Cab Welded to Frame. A 6-Point Roll Cage Is Recommended. Tubing
Must Be a Minimum of 1.5” Diameter. The Basic Purpose of the Roll Cage is to Protect
the Driver & Passenger if the Vehicle Turns Over, Runs into an Obstacle, or
is Struck by Another Vehicle. It Shall Be Designed to Withstand Compression
Forces from the Weight of the Vehicle Coming Down on the Rollover Structure and
to take Fore/Aft and Lateral Loads Resulting from the Vehicle Sliding on its
Rollover Structure. NOTE: Roll Bars/Sport Bars in the Bed of the Vehicle
Are Not Considered an Acceptable Substitute for a Roll Cage.

In Super Stock, Modified,
& Super Modified Classes, the Roll Cage Must Include Two (2) Half Inch (.5
Inch) Round Tubing Front Windshield Bars. Windshield Bars Must Span from the
Top Roll Cage Bar to the Lower Roll Cage Bar to Keep the Windshield from Coming
into the Cab in the Event of an Accident. The Lower Roll Cage Bar Can Be Over
or Under the Dash. Welding to the Firewall Is Acceptable. Welded Attachments
Only – No Other Types of Attachments Allowed. Must Be ½ inch Round or Square Tubing and Welded In Place. Must Be Round Tubing and Welded
In Place. (No Bolt-In Types, No Nylon Window Straps, and No Rebar Allowed).
3.
Doors May Be Trimmed for
Roll Cage, But Not Gutted. "Gutted" Refers to Excessive Removal of the Interior
Above and Beyond That Which Is Required for the Roll Cage And/Or Other Specific
Rules of Class.
4.
Door Gutting Is Not
Allowed Unless Interior Side Protection Tubes/Horizontal Roll Cage Door Bars
Are Installed. The Window Glass, Window Regulator, & Inner Door Trim Panel
May Be Removed Only If It Interferes with the Installation of These Side
Protection Door Bars. Inside & Outside Door Latch/Lock Mechanisms Must Be
Operational. Doors Must Be Able to Securely Open & Close.
5.
In Modified,
& Super Modified Classes, All Stock Automotive Glass Must Be Removed from
Vehicle (No Stock Type Glass Allowed in Windshield, Doors, Side Windows, or
Back Window). Driver’s Compartment Must Be Separated from Rear of Vehicle.
Front Windshield and Back Window Protection Must Be in All Trucks - Speed Glass
or Lexan ONLY.
6.
In Super Modified &
Modified Classes, Mud Flaps Must Be on the Rear of All Vehicles. DOT Approved
Material or .25 Inch Thick Rubber Must Be Fastened Securely to Rear of the
Vehicle and Cover the Entire Width of the Tires. No Strapping or Self-Tapping
Screws Are Allowed.
7.
In Super Modified Class,
All Tires Must Be Covered with Metal or Aluminum Fenders Fenders. The Entire Width of the Tires and Must Be Covered with Mud Flaps.
8.
A Minimum 4-Point SFI
Harness Is Required ALL Classes.
9.
In Modified and Super
Modified Classes, Both Side Windows Must Have Either Web-Type Safety Net with
Latch-Link or Spring Loaded Release Mechanism. Mesh or String-Type Nets Are
Approved. Net Must Be Secured in Place and Centered in the Door Area Covering
the Side Window & Fastened to the Upper Roll Cage Horizontal Member When
the Vehicle is in Competition. Driver and Passenger Window Safety Nets Must Be
Attached to Roll Cage. (Cannot Be Attached to the Door or Door Frame.) Must Be
Located on Both Sides of Vehicle If Vehicle Is Equipped with Two (2) Seats.
10.
On/Off Battery Disconnect
Switch Is Required at the Rear on the Passenger Side. The Switch Must Be
Located a Minimum of Twelve (12) Inches to a Maximum of Twenty-Four (24) Inches
from the Side and a Maximum of Twelve (12) Inches from the Rear. Snell SA Rated
Helmet Required in ALL Classes. Full-Face Helmet Is Recommended.
11.
Neck Collar Is
Recommended in ALL Classes. Neck Collar Is Required for Driver & Passenger
in Modified & Super Modified Classes.
12.
Vehicle Is Required to
Carry On-Board a Fully Charged, Mounted Fire Extinguisher of A, B, or C Dry
Chemical Type, 2.5 Pounds Minimum Capacity with Gauge Is Required in ALL
Classes. Extinguisher Must Be Mounted in Cab within Access of the Driver and
Passenger.
13.
Fire Retardant Jacket
with a SFI 3.2A/1 Rating Is Recommended for
ALL Classes. Fire Retardant Jacket Is Required for Modified and Super Modified.
14.
Drivers & Passengers
Are Required to Wear Shirts & Long Pants When Participating in a Race.
Protective Foot Covering Is Required. Shoes Should Be Buckled or Laced. Boots
Are Acceptable. No Shirt, No Shoes, No Pants, No Race!
